President Proposes 0.0025% Spending Cut

At his first Cabinet meeting last week, President Obama asked his cabinet officers to cut a combined total of $100 million in spending over the next 90 days. That is about 0.0025% of the $4 trillion that the federal government will spend this year.

As a symbolic gesture, the President’s request is appreciated. In reality, it compares to a household with an income of $50,000 cutting out $1.25 in spending, the price of a cup of coffee.

Halting and reversing the coming spending tsunami will require a much greater effort. To bring the administration closer to real restraint, last week I formally called on the President to take his cuts further and find and eliminate $100 million in waste from each of his 15 cabinet departments.

Then, how about a 1% decrease in each department? A penny on the dollar - aren't Americans doing more than that? Our government should too!

Gender-confused Fagtard

Why wouldn't someone choose to be gay in today's world?  Look at all the support and benefit you get from Hollywood.

Perez Hilton is exposing many celebrities like Eminem and will smith. He seems to be insulting the poor defenseless celebrities. Well it's time to expose Perez Hilton Himself or Herself well what ever gender IT is.
If you go on it's site and view all the info on each celebrities. You can tell me what your comments are after you read this:

Do you want to read what is written by a crazy stalker? This so called "Stalker" is supposedly a male who has Rainbow hair (must be gender-confused). Well if you want to read it go ahead but truth be told nobody wants to hear what a gender-confused transvestite wants to hear!

Forget Earth Day - What About Capitalism Day?

From evidence "that tropical rain forests may now be expanding faster than they are being cut down" to the improving health of U.S. ocean fisheries to better outdoor air quality in American cities with the worst air pollution, Hayward shows there's more to be optimistic about than there is to be troubled about.

The Environmental Protection Agency has also published its own Report on the environment. Last year's report, the most recent, indicates outdoor air quality has improved, there's been a net gain in wetland acreage, public-source drinking-water problems are uncommon and forest land is expanding after declining for a century.

Americans are actually generating no more trash per-capita than they were in 1990, our production of hazardous waste has fallen from 36 million tons in 1999 to 28 million tons in 2005, and lead levels in our blood have shown "a steady decline since the 1980s."

And then there's carbon dioxide. We are pumping out more than ever. But there's no evidence, only speculation, that this weak greenhouse gas is having any effect on the environment.

SPIN METER: Saving federal money the easy way

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Cut a latte or two out of your annual budget and you've just done as much belt-tightening as President Barack Obama asked of his Cabinet on Monday.

The thrifty measures Obama ordered for federal agencies are the equivalent of asking a family that spends $60,000 in a year to save $6.

The Danger of Environmentalism

Earth Day approaches, and with it a grave danger faces mankind. The danger is not from acid rain, global warming, smog, or the logging of rain forests, as environmentalists would have us believe. The danger to mankind is from environmentalism.

The fundamental goal of environmentalism is not clean air and clean water; rather, it is the demolition of technological/industrial civilization. Environmentalism's goal is not the advancement of human health, human happiness, and human life; rather, it is a subhuman world where "nature" is worshipped like the totem of some primitive religion.

Minimum Wage, Maximum Folly

Minimum Wage, Maximum Folly

by Walter Williams  (April 25, 2006)

About a fortnight ago, Mrs. Williams alerted me to an episode of Oprah Winfrey's show titled "Inside the Lives of People Living on Minimum Wage." After a few minutes of watching, I turned it off, not because of the heartrending tales but because most of what was being said was dead wrong.

Let's look at it.

Crack (Candy) Babies

Wall Street Journal article from late March is slowly making the rounds. The hip thing for little whippersnappers to do, apparently, is crush up Smarties into a fine powder, take a big hit, then exhale what looks like smoke. Let the countdown begin.

Salvia divinorum put state legislators into a panic. When will they discover the next dangerous menace (thanks YouTube!) and pass frenzied legislation outlawing the sale, possession, and ingestion of candy?

The "alarming trend" follows in the grand tradition of glue, N2O cartridges, and Snoop Dogg-approved Pot Suckers as the next, cool way to get high be silly and scare the crap out of adults.

Susan Boyle

FAIRYTALE ENDING
WHY IS NO ONE SUSPICIOUS OF SIMON COWELL'S LATEST CREATION?

But there is something disturbing about the collective rejection-embrace-elevation of Susan Boyle. There is the element of self-congratulation in the viral spread of this link around the Web, the idea that we, the secondary viewers, the judges of those who are judging, are far more evolved. There is the clip itself, suspiciously ready-made for online consumption: A 7-minute movie, slick and pithy in its perfect execution of the underdog narrative. (That something like "Rocky" took two hours to tell now seems antediluvian.) There is the classic David vs. Goliath subplot, the primal satisfaction of seeing the bully (Cowell) slain by such a seemingly inferior force. And there is the profound desire for this entire thing to be authentic, which in and of itself suggests that it probably isn't. Not since P.T. Barnum has there been a show business master of the trompe l'oeil like Simon Cowell.

EPA Cost of Ownership to the Country

Tax Day Was a Tragic Day for American Government and American Journalism

If there is one thing that yesterday’s nationwide Tea Parties proved is that our mainstream media is indubitably, unequivocably, inarguably the dutiful propaganda arm of the Democrat Party.

Merely months ago you’d be hard-pressed to find a mainstream news report covering an anti-war protest without exhilaration, an anti-Bush protest without barely hidden glee, a pro-embryonic-stem-cell research or pro-abortion rally without encouragement, or an illegal immigration rights rally without empathy. For eight years dissent was patriotic. Bush-bashing was patriotic. Troop-bashing was patriotic. America-bashing was patriotic. Captialism-bashing was patriotic.

And the mainstream media, incessantly defending itself as objective and fair, never failed make it a point to tell us so.

So, when a Democrat is in the White House (with a barely 50-50 approval rate, mind you) and there’s a nationwide protest against his policies, here is our supposedly objective mainstream news at work:

ABC news parroted rumors originating from the left-wing blogs that the protests were really organized by people fronting for “corporate interests” and used the (undeniable) fact that Fox News and righty radio commentators as some smoking gun that the protests had sponsorship from these outlets.

CBS touted a Gallup Poll (that they just happened to have that day) that Americans think their income tax this year is fair 61% to 35%.

NBC made fun of D.C. protestors because they failed to get a permit from the district to dump a million teabags in the park across the street from the White House (see below).

CNN’s Anderson Cooper ridiculed the protests by making obscene jokes about “tea-bagging.” Then correspondent Susan Roesgen did her job at the Chicago Tea Party by interrupting and insulting attendees she was supposedly interviewing.

But CNN wasn’t done. On their website is an article about last week’s release of a DHS report warning about the rising of “right wing extremist” groups in the United States. The photo accompanying the article? A Getty file photo of parading neo-Nazis. Gee, wonder what they’re trying to say.

Speaking of that DHS report, which cites not a single group by name, Mike Sargent at NewsBusters notes that a couple months ago a DHS report came out warning of domestic terrorism fromleft-wing extremist groups. The report actually mentioned several groups by name, including the enviro-wacko group Earth Liberation Front. How many mainstream media outlets reported on this DHS report? ZERO.

During an interview with Howard Dean on MSNBC (home of ultra-lefties Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann), the DNC Chair also used the mocking “tea bag” reference. Indeed, if you go to any lefty blog or website, “tea bag party” is the diss of choice for the Tea Parties. I find it not coincidental in the least that the DNC Chair is liberally using the same terminology.

(See NewsBusters for details of the above instances. They are a treasure trove of liberal media bias)

Profiles in Liberal Ignorance, Hate, and Intolerance: Olbermann and Garofalo

Garofalo: Tea Party Goers Are Racists Who Hate Black President

[Olbermann's] show is a pathetic excuse for news analysis. With all the mindless knee-jerk left-wing talking points about right-wing racism and violence and Fox News, there’s no room for intellectual analysis. It’s raw hateful, fact-deficient, emotional ranting billed as news analysis. Rush doesn’t do this crap. That’s why he’s taken dumps that are more popular than Gorafalo and Olbermann put together. (Sorry for the visual)

What we have here is simply two very insecure spiteful junior high school girls bashing other kids they don’t like by calling them offensive names and making up rumors about them. MSNBC just puts them in front of a camera. And they wonder why they keep getting fewer and fewer viewers. There’s a reason “The Great One” Mark Levin calls Olbermann’s show “Countdown to No Ratings.”

These two people are the poster children for liberal ignorance, hate, and intolerance. It’s bad enough that they consider themselves enlightened and intelligent. What’s even more troubling is that there are Americans out there—and you know who you are—who believe they are too.

DHS report on right-wing terror

Here's a statement from Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., a member of the House Homeland Security Committee.

"I am disturbed and personally offended by the Department of Homeland Security's view that returning military veterans and gun owners are likely to commit terrorist acts," he said.

"Federal homeland security officials should focus on specific, verifiable, and actionable intelligence to stop potential terrorist threats to our country. Instead the Department is engaging in political and ideological profiling of people who fought to keep our country safe from terrorism, uphold our nation's immigration laws, and protect our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. It troubles me that the Department has specifically avoided talking about foreign terrorism but seems more than willing to insult our nation's heroes returning from battle."

The report was not supposed to be publicly available ("No portion . . . should be released to the media, the general public or over non-secure Internet servers"). But somehow, it got released and is now widely available on the Web. (Read it for yourself here.)

Report quotes:

"(U//FOUO) The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of
military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities
could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists
capable of carrying out violent attacks."

"— (U//FOUO) Returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are
attractive to rightwing extremists. DHS/I&A is concerned that rightwing
extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to
boost their violent capabilities."

The Planet Cools While Romm Burns

Last week, we declared Marc Morano the clear winner in his March 27th Roll Call TV "Green Politics" debate against Romm.  And Monday, the loser decided to take me to task, defending not his frail forensic performance but rather the three over the top projections he squeezed into this opening sentence -- which I challenged as alarmist exaggeration:  [The emphasis remains mine]
"On our current emissions path we are going to warm the United States 10-15 degrees Fahrenheit by the end of the century and sea level rise will be 5 feet or higher and a third of the planet will be desert."

Matt "Comrade" Lauer Worries that Business Will Escape Government Control

LAUER: People at Goldman are starting to talk about the possibility of paying off the bailout money ahead of schedule. And I'm worried if you think that's a good thing. Are they doing this because of financial stability, or might they be talking about that simply to get out from under the thumb of the federal government and be allowed to go back to running the business the way they want to run it as opposed to the way the government wants them to run it?

PROMISES, PROMISES: Is Obama dog a rescue or not?

WASHINGTON — Is Bo a rescued dog or not? Did President Obama keep or break a campaign promise in picking the purebred as the family's new pet?

"He's in a gray area," Pacelle said of Bo. "But I will say that many animal advocates are disappointed that he (Obama) didn't go to a shelter or breed rescue group, partly because he set that expectation and because so many activists are focused on trying to reduce the number of animals euthanized at shelters, and there's no better person to make the case to the American public that you can get a great dog from a shelter than the president."

Meltdown Exposé

Treaty of Tripoli vs Treaty of Paris: A Tale of Two Treaties

Finally, those who use the Treaty of Tripoli to prove that America is not a Christian nation, usually ignore the Treaty of Paris of 1783.   The Treaty of Paris, negotiated by Ben Franklin and John Adams among others, is truly a foundational document for the United States, because by this Treaty England recognized American independence.   And there is no question about the validity or the wording of the Treaty of Paris.   It begins with the words: “In the Name of the most holy and undivided Trinity… .”

Obama Shouldn't Apologize for Christian Nation

So is (or was) America a Christian nation? If by that we mean that America is a Christian theocracy, that our government should give Christians preferential treatment, or that members of other faiths aren't welcome, the answer is an emphatic "no."

But if we are talking about the ideals that led to the very colonization of this land, our declaration of independence from Britain, and the formulation of our Constitution, then the answer is certainly "yes."

In the words of professor John Eidsmoe, author of “Christianity and the Constitution: The Faith of Our Founding Fathers,” "If by the term Christian nation one means a nation that was founded on biblical values that were brought to the nation by mostly professing Christians, then in that sense the United States may truly be called a Christian nation."

Why does this matter? Simply because our dominant secular culture delights in demonizing Christianity, distorting its character, conflating it with less tolerant faiths, and associating it with all our societal woes. History revisionists have convinced many that we mainly owe our liberties to secular humanist ideals and those borrowed from the Greeks, Romans, and the French Enlightenment.

The Faith of Our Fathers

It's not necessary to dig through the diaries, however, to determine which faith was the Founder's guiding light. There's an easier way to settle the issue.

The phrase "Founding Fathers" is a proper noun. It refers to a specific group of men, the 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention. There were other important players not in attendance, like Jefferson, whose thinking deeply influenced the shaping of our nation. These 55 Founding Fathers, though, made up the core.

The denominational affiliations of these men were a matter of public record. Among the delegates were 28 Episcopalians, 8 Presbyterians, 7 Congregationalists, 2 Lutherans, 2 Dutch Reformed, 2 Methodists, 2 Roman Catholics, 1 unknown, and only 3 deists--Williamson, Wilson, and Franklin--this at a time when church membership entailed a sworn public confession of biblical faith.

This is a revealing tally. It shows that the members of the Constitutional Convention, the most influential group of men shaping the political foundations of our nation, were almost all Christians, 51 of 55--a full 93%. Indeed, 70% were Calvinists (the Episcopalians, Presbyterians, and the Dutch Reformed), considered by some to be the most extreme and dogmatic form of Christianity.

The Rich: Enemies of the People?

The media has whipped the TV-watching public into a frenzy over federal bailout funds being used to pay salary bonuses to top company CEOs who already make huge salaries.

I understand the frustration. I have opposed the bailouts from the beginning, on constitutional, political, economic, and moral grounds. And if there was to be a bailout at all, it more limits should be placed on how the funds are to be used.

But some of the media attacks have taken the form of Marxist class warfare. These executives must be evil and undeserving, because they are The Rich. And as everyone knows, The Rich are the enemies of The People.

Stop just a minute. Why would any corporation’s board of directors, elected by the shareholders, vote to pay a CEO $10 million plus bonuses? Other than insanity, there can be only one reason: they are convinced that CEO can more than $10 million for the company.

Who should determine the appropriate salary for a CEO, or a file clerk, or any other company employee? If not the law of supply and demand, then who? The government?

Fomenting public hostility toward high-income CEOs, the media rely both on Marxist-inspired class jealousy and upon a flawed Marxist understanding of economics. Marxism views the economy as a closed system in which there is a fixed amount of wealth, and therefore any dollar that I earn is one less dollar for someone else. In fact, the economy is an open system. CEOs do not take wealth from others. By creating a new product or opening a new market, the CEO creates new wealth, from which he and others profit.

And when are the media going to focus their Hate-the-Rich spotlight upon themselves. Katie Couric’s annual pay has been around $15 million, Tom Brokaw around $10 million, Brian Williams around $10 million, David Letterman about $31.5 million, and Jay Leno around $32 million. By their reasoning, are they too not Enemies of the People?

New Documents Uncovered by Judicial Watch Show Congress Ignored Corruption at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for Years

Barney Frank Corruption Timeline

Obama’s shamnesty distraction

I’m not sure why Drudge is hyping the New York Times’ stenography piece on Obama’s plans to carry through on his promise to pitch a shamnesty bill. It’s not news. It’s a White House-planted distraction sourced mainly to La Raza/The Race lobbyist-turned-White House open borders czar Cecilia Munoz.

I pointed a few weeks ago to Obama’s meeting with Latino groups pushing for faster action on paving the pathway to citizenship for millions of illegal aliens. You know that the DREAM Act has been reintroduced in Congress. You know about the Obama Census plan to Leave No Illegal Alien Behind. And you know that Nancy Pelosi has been banging the “stop the unpatriotic raids” drum.

President Zero Looks at Climate Engineering

WASHINGTON (AP) - The president's new science adviser said Wednesday that global warming is so dire, the Obama administration is discussing radical technologies to cool Earth's air.

John Holdren told The Associated Press in his first interview since being confirmed last month that the idea of geoengineering the climate is being discussed. One such extreme option includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun's rays. Holdren said such an experimental measure would only be used as a last resort.

"It's got to be looked at," he said. "We don't have the luxury of taking any approach off the table."

Holdren outlined several "tipping points" involving global warming that could be fast approaching. Once such milestones are reached, such as complete loss of summer sea ice in the Arctic, it increases chances of "really intolerable consequences," he said.

Twice in a half-hour interview, Holdren compared global warming to being "in a car with bad brakes driving toward a cliff in the fog."

NOAA Refuted

Climate Change. Global Warming.

I agree… one cold year does not refute human-induced global warming. However, 10 years of steady or declining temperatures, as witnessed over the past 10 years is certainly a pretty big red flag!!!

Secondly, you’d think that the fact that satellite recordings of Earth’s average temperatures over the past 30 years show that the average temperatures in the fall of 2008 were no different than the fall of 1979 may be a clue that the average temperature of the Earth is at least not increasing “faster than originally thought,” as claimed by many recent articles in the news.

See http://www.drroyspencer.com/latest-global-temperatures/ for the satellite records.

Third, as the foundation of human-induced global warming theory is the increasing concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, you’d think that scientists who are proponents of the view could demonstrate actual increased greenhouse gas warming in the atmosphere where it could be seen clearly by temperature readings in the atmosphere. Such a greenhouse signature has NEVER been recorded.

See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fCP_nHRjP8 for details.

Finally, if all that information doesn’t raise any doubts in your mind, then Professor Bob Carter’s Five Tests of Human-Induced Global Warming Theory certainly will.

The Global Warming Hoax

God Still Isn't Dead. The decline of religion in America has been predicted again and again.

America was famously founded by companies and churches. The woes of American capitalism are well known: Wall Street is a synonym for excess and greed around the world, and Detroit is tottering on the edge of bankruptcy. But just as its temples to Mammon are under fire, so suddenly are its churches to God.

Distinguished Disservice. In honoring Murtha, the Navy insults its own.

In bestowing the navy’s highest civilian medal, the Distinguished Public Service Award, upon Rep. John P. Murtha (D., Pa.) last month, the secretary of the Navy acted as a supplicant — an accountant happy to be given funds and disinclined to question the source. The secretary (Donald C. Winter, a Bush administration holdover who has since left the job) demonstrated that he did not understand his official role as a leader when the country is at war. Murtha smeared the reputation of a generation of Marines, and to reward him alongside several other members of Congress for earmarking funds served to exonerate the congressman, who never apologized for besmirching the honor of our fighting men.

Harvard Student Takes On Barney Frank Over Economy

Barney Frank and Chuck Schumer’s Role in the Fannie Mae Failure

In fact, Frank & Co. made matters worse by pushing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to take on greater risk. They wanted more loans to people who might not qualify for traditional bank financing. And, as The Wall Street Journal has pointed out, Frank “pressured regulators to ease up on their capital requirements

Fannie Mae's Patron Saint

Taxpayers are now on the hook for as much as $200 billion to rescue Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and if you want to know why, look no further than the rapid response to this bailout from House baron Barney Frank. Asked about Treasury's modest bailout condition that the companies reduce the size of their high-risk mortgage-backed securities (MBS) portfolios starting in 2010, Mr. Frank was quoted on Monday as saying, "Good luck on that," and that it would never happen.

Obama Maintains Control Over Banks By Refusing To Accept Repayment Of TARP Money

Think about it: If Rick Wagoner can be fired and compact cars can be mandated, why can't a bank with a vault full of TARP money be told where to lend? And since politics drives this administration, why can't special loans and terms be offered to favored constituents, favored industries, or even favored regions? Our prosperity has never been based on the political allocation of credit -- until now.

Right.org Contest: Happyjoel vs. The Bailout

DickMorrisReports 3/27/09

Lawmakers Have Long Rewarded Their Aides With Bonuses

WASHINGTON -- While Congress has been flaying companies for giving out bonuses while on the government dole, lawmakers have a longstanding tradition of rewarding their own employees with extra cash -- also courtesy of taxpayers.

Capitol Hill bonuses in 2008 were among the highest in years, according to LegiStorm, an organization that tracks payroll data. The average House aide earned 17% more in the fourth quarter of the year, when the bonuses were paid, than in previous quarters, according to the data. That was the highest jump in the eight years LegiStorm has compiled payroll information.

Total end-of-year bonuses paid to congressional staffers are tiny compared with the $165 million recently showered on executives of American International Group Inc., which is being propped up by billions of dollars of U.S. government subsidies. But Capitol Hill bonuses provide a notable counterpoint to the populist rhetoric and sound bites emanating from Washington these past weeks.

Last year alone, more than 200 House lawmakers, both Republicans and Democrats, awarded bonuses totaling $9.1 million to more than 2,000 staff members, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis of office-disbursement forms. The money comes out of taxpayer-funded office budgets, and is surplus cash that would otherwise be forfeited if not spent.
